Scalable Pressure, Level and Flow Measurement Platform
Overview
Achieve unparalleled productivity and efficiency with the Rosemount 3051S Series of Pressure Instrumentation. This scalable platform for integrated pressure, flow, and level measurements features fast start-ups, reduced operating costs, and increased accuracy. Device capabilities include an intuitive interface with a large LCD display, improved accessibility with remote display options, and enhanced process and electrical loop insights with Advanced Diagnostics. This flexible solution also features MultiVariable™ options, high pressure capabilities, and wireless technology.
Advanced Diagnostics
Advanced Diagnostics offer continual process and electrical loop monitoring to help ensure the integrity and safety of your process environments. Process Intelligence technology monitors for abnormal conditions in the process and equipment, and the Plugged Impulse Line diagnostic detects issues with the process connection. In addition to process and connection monitoring, Loop Integrity technology alerts you to problems with the performance of the electrical loop. This device is also safety certified to IEC61508.
High Pressure Measurement
High Pressure capabilities deliver accurate process information in the harshest conditions. Transmitters are capable of withstanding static pressures up to 15000 psi (1034 bar) while the patented coplanar design reduces weight by up to 60%. The all-welded hermetic stainless steel design protects sensor electronics from moisture and field contaminants for the industry’s highest field reliability and performance.
MultiVariable Measurement
MultiVariable™ Transmitters measure differential and static pressure and temperature in a single device, reducing installation and maintenance costs. Instruments provide dependable flow measurements for air, steam and liquid service and can be ordered pre-assembled to a variety of primary elements. Ultra for Flow performance class delivers no-equal accuracy for fully-compensated mass flow calculations.
Electronic Remote Sensor
Electronic Remote Sensor (ERS™) Systems provide DP Level measurements by calculating differential pressure from individual pressure readings. This solution eliminates the need for long capillaries and heat tracing, reducing response time by up to 90%. The sensor system is synchronized for DP calculation, easily connects with cable, and can be independently installed and serviced for simple installation and maintenance.
Wireless Technology
With Wireless Technology, you can add new measurement points easily and cost-effectively in many areas of the plant including those that were previously inaccessible. Gaining additional information allows you to better optimize your process and reduce personnel exposure to hazardous environments. Get coverage over larger areas with long-range communication options up to 1 km (2/3 mi) between devices.
Remote Display
The Remote Display facilitates at-grade transmitter viewing for challenging process locations. This feature allows you to follow installation best practices, such as eliminating long impulse lines, while maintaining safe access to the display. Remote Displays improve personnel safety by limiting time spent in hazardous locations.
Advanced Diagnostics
Advanced Diagnostics Overview
Rosemount 3051S Advanced Diagnostics provides Process Intelligence, Plugged Impulse Line, and Loop Integrity technologies to create unprecedented diagnostic coverage. Process Intelligence technology proactively monitors for abnormal conditions in processes and equipment, while the Plugged Impulse Line diagnostic detects issues with the process connection. Additionally, the Loop Integrity diagnostic continuously monitors for problems throughout the entire electrical loop. The combination of these technologies enables improved preventative maintenance practices, increased productivity, and a reduced total cost of ownership.
Process Intelligence
Uncover hidden process issues with the Process Intelligence diagnostic of the Rosemount 3051S. Process Intelligence uses a patented statistical processing technology that is designed to track change in process standard deviation, mean, and coefficient of variation to proactively detect changes in process noise levels and help diagnose abnormal conditions, such as flame instability, cavitation, column flooding, and much more. This intelligent process insight also helps improve preventative maintenance practices, quality control, and productivity.
Plugged Impulse Line
Ensure your transmitter has visibility to process conditions with the Plugged Impulse Line diagnostic. Impulse lines can fill with solid material or freeze in cold environments, effectively blocking the pressure signal and making it unresponsive to process changes. Using patented statistical processing technology, the Plugged Impulse Line diagnostic helps proactively identify process connection issues. This eliminates unnecessary maintenance and allows for optimized preventative maintenance schedules.
Loop Integrity
Detect potential failures before they can affect process operations or safety with the Loop Integrity diagnostic of the Rosemount 3051S. Loop Integrity technology verifies the electrical performance of the 4-20 mA loop at installation and then continuously monitors for changes to identify connection issues. This diagnostic coverage helps detect conditions such as corroded terminals and unstable power supplies, which can compromise the integrity of the output signal and jeopardize operations. In Safety Instrumented Systems, Loop Integrity can reduce the risk of undetected failures.
Safety Certified Diagnostics
The Safety Certified Diagnostics of the Rosemount 3051S improves safety compliance by combining a High Safe Failure Fraction with broad diagnostic coverage. These comprehensive diagnostic capabilities help ensure reliable operation for your safety instrumented systems to reduce total cost of ownership and extend proof test intervals. This technology detects internal transmitter failures as well as previously undetectable process and electrical loop failures, reducing the Safety Instrumented Function Probability of Failure on Demand.
Logging Capabilities
The Rosemount 3051S features Event Logging with Time Stamp capability. This ensures that previously unreported pressure and temperature irregularities are accurately recorded, aiding investigation into troublesome process or installation conditions. In addition, Event Logging Capabilities offer essential device information to help improve troubleshooting and decision-making. This comprehensive record of status events provides enhanced insight into the process and health of the device.
Process Alerts
The Process Alerts of the Rosemount 3051S increase awareness of potential process issues, providing critical information to enable better decision-making. These advanced alerts actively monitor process pressure and sensor temperature values against user-configured settings and, when these alerts are triggered, are reported back to the control system. This immediate information offers enhanced insight into the process and can be used to effectively troubleshoot a problematic process or installation.
