Emerson conducts annual environmental training programs for its plant environmental managers, division environmental coordinators and other key personnel worldwide. Each training session takes into account the specific needs of the regions in which our global facilities are located.
Each year approximately 400 employees attend the training sessions, which are held at various locations throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
This training program has two primary goals:
• Give employees a practical understanding of the requirements of environmental laws and regulations as they apply to the company.
• Share ideas on how to reduce the generation of waste, enhance the quality of the environment, and conserve energy.
The training conferences cover a broad range of topics, including:
• Emerson’s environmental principles and policies.
• Good environmental management practices, including reducing the generation of greenhouse gases.
• Country-specific environmental laws and regulations, as well as bilateral and multilateral environmental agreements that apply to Emerson’s operations in the region.
• New developments in environmental laws (by country).
• Pollution prevention, waste minimization, and energy conservation.
