Coriolis reduces scrap caused by mixing or measurement errors

Blending and batching processes require accurate measurements during filling operations. The ingredient mix must be consistent with assuring adherence to specifications. Even a slight deviation can result in costly rework or scrap. With Coriolis mass flow measurement, batches are completed more quickly and more consistently, which translates into reduced rework and scrap and overall higher plant throughput. Volumetric flow measurement technologies do not provide the same benefits. A manufacturer who replaced PD meters with Coriolis saw an immediate 80% reduction in inventory loss due to blending error. Product quality and uniformity improved, and there was a reduction in the number of required touch-up operations on the final products. Production time was also reduced an average of two hours per day.
