Sanitary Conductivity Sensor Provides Accurate Measurement
Cleaning process equipment in place in the pharmaceutical industry is done periodically to remove residue from previous batches and to sanitize the equipment. The cleaning process requires a series of flushes with detergents, acid solutions and water. Conductivity measurement is used to monitor the progression of the cleaning cycles and to determine when each cycle is complete as the cleaning solutions are more conductive than the water used for flushing and rinsing. Conductivity sensors in these applications need to have a sanitary design to make sure they do not trap residue that could decay or harbor microorganisms. The Rosemount 245 Toroidal Conductivity Sensor features a noninvasive flow through design allowing for in-line installations without any obstruction to sample flow. These conductivity sensors are ideal for use in viscous, abrasive, or fibrous liquids and are intended for use in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and food and beverage industries.

The Rosemount 1066 Single Channel Transmitter supports continuous measurement of one liquid analytical input - pH sensor, conductivity sensor, chlorine sensor, dissolved oxygen sensor or ozone sensor. The Rosemount 400 Contacting Conductivity Sensor, with integral cable, accurately measures electrolytic conductivity in a broad range of applications from high purity water to clean cooling water. The Rosemount 400 conductivity sensor is ideal for use in clean, non-corrosive liquid having less than 20,000 µS/cm.

The Rosemount 410VP Four-Electrode Conductivity Sensor is primarily intended for the measurement of electrolytic conductivity in the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. The broad dynamic range of this conductivity sensor (1 - 14,000 uS/cm) makes it ideal for CIP applications. Other uses include monitoring eluents in chromatographic separations and detecting liquid interfaces.
