Ensure 100% Product Inspection Using Inline, Real-Time Leak Detection and Rejection of Individual Leaking Packs
Modified Atmosphere Packaging Leak Detection

Increase Throughput with Fast, Non-Destructive Detection of Packages

Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) is a process used to extend the shelf life of packaged fresh food. MAP substitutes the air inside the package with a gas mixture to slow down or prevent the oxidation process. However, rips, punctures or incomplete seals caused by issues upstream in the packaging line can impact the seal integrity of the package and product quality.

Packaging line operators have traditionally relied on manual water bath leak testing to verify the integrity of packages. However, this testing method is slow, costly, resource intensive and disruptive to production. There is a need for a reliable testing method that provide 100% product inspection assurance. Delivering the market’s highest operating speed and detection accuracy, the Rosemount CT4215 Packaging Detection System is an automated, inline leak tester that uses high-resolution quantum cascade laser technology to detect and reject individual leaking packs in real time without stopping the production line.
