Many ethylene plants are experiencing increasing costs of raw materials making ethylene production slim. Coke fines can accumulate resulting in plugged impulse lines and poor flow measurement performance. Without an accurate measurement point, it can be difficult to maintain the correct steam to hydrocarbon ratio which may result in periodic process trips increasing maintenance costs. To satisfy SIL 3 recommendation, the Rosemount™ 8800 Dual Vortex Flow Meter is an all-welded design eliminating ports and crevices increasing the reliability of the measurement point.
