Atmospheric storage tanks store or mix flammable and combustible liquids in a variety of ways. In an external floating roof tank, the floating roof rises and falls with the level of the surface liquid helping to minimize liquid loss through evaporation. When crude oil and petroleum products are stored in these tanks, there is a risk of vapor leaks around the rim seal. These vapors have the potential to ignite, destroying the rim seal and causing a fire, unless first detected by a suitable detector. Rosemount™ gas detectors monitor and detect combustible gas/vapors, triggering warning systems and helping to prevent a potential fire. If a fire does start, Rosemount flame detectors can detect flames of differing fuel types and at various distances to help keep your people and assets safe.

The Rosemount Incus Ultrasonic Gas Leak Detector utilizes four ultra-sensitive acoustic sensors that constantly monitor wide areas for ultrasound generated from the release of pressurized gas. Ideally suited for monitoring well-ventilated outdoor environments, the ultrasonic gas leak detector has been engineered to withstand the most extreme conditions and is unaffected by inclement weather, wind, leak direction, and gas dilution or stratification.

The Rosemount 928 Wireless Gas Monitor detects hydrogen sulfide (H
2S), carbon monoxide (CO), and oxygen depletion (O
2) in remote applications previously too challenging and costly to monitor. This wireless toxic gas monitoring system enhances worker safety through early gas leak detection, simply integrates with
WirelessHART® technology, and eliminates the need for expensive wiring. The Rosemount 928 Wireless Gas Monitor easily connects to the Rosemount 628 Universal Gas Sensor which consists of a tool-less-hot-swappable smart sensor module.

The Rosemount 935 Open Path Combustible Gas Detector provides continuous monitoring for hydrocarbon gases, even in harsh environments where dust, fog, rain, snow or vibration can cause high amounts of obscuration. This combustible gas detector utilizes infrared technology and has long range detection up to 660 ft (200 m). Worldwide approvals for the Rosemount 935 Open Path Combustible Gas Detector include ATEX, IECEx, FM/FMC, INMETRO, TR CU, and SIL 2 (TÜV).

The Rosemount 975MR Multi-Spectrum Infrared Flame Detector accurately analyzes the multi-spectral signals of hydrocarbon gas or liquid fires by utilizing four separate IR sensors. The 975MR detects fuel and gas fires at long distances. For example, this product will detect a 1 ft2 (0.1m2) gasoline pan fire at 300 ft (90 m). The 975MR also provides a high immunity to false alarms and enhanced overall coverage range.
