In thickening processes, the solid particles and liquid from the slurry are separated by gravitation. Solids in suspension settle at the bottom of the tank and form a thick pulp, and the liquid overflows a trough. The solids from the bottom are extracted as a thickened pulp from an outlet at the center of the tank.
The Rosemount 1208 Radar Level and Flow Transmitter uses non-contacting and delivers reliable level measurement of the thickener tank, thus helping to avoid overfills and making processes more efficient at plants. The Rosemount 1208 features a compact and robust PVDF housing which is resistant to outdoor conditions, and its innovative radar technology remains unaffected by process conditions.
