Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to liquid state for ease and safety of storage or transport. Vehicles and vessels that use LNG as fuel need to measure and report how much fuel is purchased. Where other measurement methods utilize static measurements to determine flow, Coriolis meters provide a direct mass measurement that ensures a highly accurate custody transfer process by measuring flow dynamically. A Coriolis meter eliminates the delays and costs associated with static measurements because flow is measured continuously as the transfer takes place. Additionally, when using flow meters, it is possible to perform multiple simultaneous deliveries in and out of the same storage tank. Micro Motion ELITE™ Coriolis Flow and Density Meters have been successfully used for cryogenic liquids and LNG for over 20 years and hold official certifications and approvals for custody transfer measurement of cryogenic liquids.
