Value Engineering
Start partnership early during FEED to balance business requirements with returns.
Emerson uses value engineering to improve the ratio of function to cost. When value engineering starts early in the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) phase, the automation strategy provides a strong base to start the execute phase — and greatly impacts the success of the project.
Emerson has a proven track record of delivering value to automation projects including technology innovations, global capabilities, successful project execution, and breadth of automation and industry expertise.
When included in the FEED phase, value engineering practices can more easily balance technology choices with project needs, lowest installed cost, and project risk. For example, Emerson can provide initial outline valve drawings to support earlier piping design, which in turn can shorten the project schedule. As a result, long-term savings are better ensured.
Technologies and processes must be evaluated in a larger scope beyond the confines of automation to see how they impact the larger project success. To deliver project success, value engineering drives a holistic assessment of processes, resources, and technology direction (such as wireless choices, globe valves versus rotary valves, and more).
