Emerson Evaluating Strategic Alternatives for the Power Transmission Solutions Business

ST. LOUIS, June 27, 2014 – Emerson (NYSE: EMR) today announced that it is evaluating strategic alternatives for its Power Transmission Solutions business unit.  Emerson continually evaluates the mix and competitive positioning of its businesses to maximize shareholder value, which may include adding or divesting operations.  The resulting plans for the business are expected to be determined and announced by the end of the calendar year.

Currently part of Emerson’s Industrial Automation business, with 2013 revenue of more than $600 million, the Power Transmission Solutions business is based in Florence, Kentucky and has over 3,000 employees around the world.  The business designs and manufacturers market-leading couplings, bearings, conveying components,  gearing, drive components, and supporting services and solutions, with brands including Browning, Jaure, Kop-Flex, McGill, Morse, Rollway, SealMaster, and System Plast.
