After grinding in the ball mill, fragments of ore remain that are too large to pass through the screen to the next phase. These fragments, along with foreign matter that can include broken balls from the mill, are ushered to the rejects line. Valves isolating these lines must provide zero leakage shutoff to prevent valuable water loss, while also being robust enough to resist severe impact damage.
The following products are capable of providing zero leakage shutoff of ball mill reject lines. They are also engineered to resist heavy impact damage and extend the uptime of your mill.
Andy Coxall joins podcast host Jim Cahill to discuss the challenges in tailings management, the problems with valves not suited for this severe-service application, and why severe-service knife gate valve technology such as the Clarkson KS1 is the best choice for these challenging slurry applications.
