Emerson Wins the Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking in China: CSR Innovation Award

Shanghai, China (December 16, 2016) – Emerson (NYSE: EMR) has received the “2016 Corporate Social Responsibility Ranking in China: CSR Innovation Award,” presented by China Business Network (CBN), China’s leading business magazine publisher. CBN recognized Emerson for carrying out social responsibilities via innovative practice and boosting sustainable development of China’s economy and society, while maintaining excellent business performance.

Emerson is dedicated to improving energy usage efficiency through innovative technologies and promoting cleaner production methods. In April 2016, Emerson initiated the Helix plan, investing 35 million dollars to establish the first Helix Innovation Center. The center focuses on promoting research and development of the global HVACR industry. Emerson’s complete new series of compressor and controller products and the refrigerating fluid it adopts can decrease the global warning effects caused by existing products by 50 percent and more.

Based on its “In China, For China” strategy, Emerson established the China Charitable Program in 2009, to improve the quality of people’s lives. The program is planned and directed by Emerson China, and each business unit actively participates in the program. By leveraging the company’s business specialties, Emerson focuses on two major fields: technological engineering and construction of infrastructure facilities; and education, healthcare and humanitarian assistance.

Over the past eight years, the Emerson China Charitable Program has funded successful projects, including replacing dilapidated houses in Ruyuan Guangdong, Angel Sunshine Action (donate and visit children with congenital heart disease), New Great Wall Program (providing financial assistance for students from underprivileged families to attend university) and Mother’s Water Cellar project (bringing clean water and other assistance to remote rural villages).
