Once raw milk is received at a dairy plant, the milk then flows into storage and buffer tanks. Here the milk is kept at a cold temperature until it can be further processed. Level measurement is necessary to monitor the level of inventory and to prevent overfills in the tanks.

The Rosemount 1408H Level Transmitter provides accurate continuous level measurement. The radar is specifically designed to match hygienic requirements in the food & beverage industry. It is equipped with hygienic certifications (3-A®, FDA, EC 1935/2004, EHEDG, etc.), a compact and polished stainless steel housing, and the ability to withstand CIP and SIP cleaning processes which allows you to minimize contamination risk and assure product safety.
