Determine HART Revision

In this tutorial you will learn the steps for determining the HART revision of your Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter.

Tutorial Summary:

  1. Starting from the Home Screen, press 2 to select "Configure".
  2. Press 2 to select "Manual Setup".
  3. Press 5 to select "HART".
  4. Press 2 to select "Communication Settings".
  5. From the Communication Settings screen you will find the HART revision listed beside "Universal Revision".

Device Tag Configuration

In this tutorial you will learn the steps for configuring a device tag which may be displayed electronically to identify your Rosemount 3051.

  1. Starting from the Home Screen, Press 2 to select "Configure".
  2. Press 2 to select "Manual Setup".
  3. Press 7 to select "Device Information".
  4. Press 1 to select "Identification".
  5. Press 1 to select "Tag".
  6. Enter desired Device Tag. Press ENTER, SEND.
    (For HART revision 7 only)
  7. Press 2 to select "Long Tag".
  8. Enter the desired Long Tag. Press ENTER, SEND, HOME.

  6. Enter the Upper Range Value. Press ENTER, SEND, OK.
  7. Press 3 to select "Lower Range Value".
  8. Enter the Lower Range Value. Press ENTER, SEND, OK, HOME.

Establish Multi-drop Communication

In this tutorial you will learn the steps for establishing multi-drop communication, allowing for the connection of several Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitters to the same communications transmission line.

  3. Press 5 to select "HART".

  5. (For HART Revision 7) Press 2 to select “Change Polling Address”.
    (For HART Revision 5) Press 1 to select “Polling Address”.
  6. PressOK.
  7. Enter desired polling address. (1-15 for HART Revision 5. 1-63 for HART Revision 7.)
  8. Press ENTER, OK, SEND (HART Revision 5 only), HOME

Scaled Variable Configuration

In this tutorial you will learn the steps for configuring scaled variables to customize your Rosemount 3051 for your specific application.

  1. Starting from the Home Screen, Press 2 to select "Configure".
  2. Press 2 to select "Manual Setup".
  3. Press 3 to select "Scaled Variable".
  4. Press 5 to select "Scaled Variable".
  5. Press OK.
  6. Enter custom unit (scaled variable). Press ENTER.
  7. For a DP Level application, select “Linear”. Press ENTER.
  8. Enter lower known pressure point. Press ENTER.
  9. Enter custom unit equivalent for lower known pressure point. Press ENTER.
  10. Enter upper known pressure point. Press ENTER.
  11. Enter custom unit equivalent for upper known pressure point. Press ENTER.
  12. Enter linear offset. Press ENTER, OK, HOME.
