HYDERABAD, India (February 19, 2018) – In recognition of his role in international business leadership, strategic alliances and contributions to India, Edward L. Monser, President, Emerson, was conferred with the ‘Visionary Leader’ award at the recently concluded Nasscom India Leadership Forum in Hyderabad, India. The award recognized Monser’s and Emerson’s contribution in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and the increasing importance of Industrial companies in the deployment of IoT strategies to deliver dramatic changes in the industry.
As president of Emerson since 2010, Edward Monser drives the company’s international growth strategy and global shared services organizations, which include global engineering and information technology centers. Furthermore, he is also active in promoting international understanding and trade, and is the current vice-chairman of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum.
Monser addressed a packed house of IT and business leaders from across the world at the conference, sharing insights on digitalization and automation trends in global industry. His keynote session was centered on the theme of ‘Strategic Imperative for Leaders’, where he highlighted the need for upskilling, change management, mobility and education for India’s manufacturing sector workforce. In particular, he elaborated on the value of Industrial IoT to drive optimization and top quartile performance both in operations (safety, reliability, performance, costs, etc.) and project management in improving capital efficiency.
The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) hosted the 26th edition of its annual flagship summit, the India Leadership Forum 2018 in Hyderabad this year. Additionally, the World Congress of Information Technology (WCIT) was organized for the first time in India and hosted by Nasscom as a part of the three-day conference starting February 19. Both summits saw participation from the world’s top leaders across different industry verticals in a series of panel discussions, workshops, visionary talks, showcases and networking events.
