Radial (rotary) stacker systems deposit the material as the stacker moves slowly across a defined area. The material can be kept in storage domes or open containers, which can get very dusty. In addition, the equipment and potential mounting location for a device are limited and subject to vibration and flying rocks. The combination of the movement of the stacker and the increasing height of the rock piles requires a fast response.
