Continuous Level Measurement with Radar Technologies

The most common polymers (PET, PE, PVC, PP) are produced in a polymerization plant. The compounding process changes the physical, thermal, electric, or visual characteristics of the plastic. Polymer pellet/powder materials are delivered to the plant in bags, or loaded to the storage silos from trucks. For compounding production, these materials are transferred from the storage silos to the molding area via smaller batch silos. The pellets/powders and possible additives are then molded into the final product. PP and PE pellets have a low dielectric constant creating challenges in achieving accurate level measurement. Guided wave and non-contacting radar technologies perform expertly and reliably under these conditions.
