Downhole Monitoring and Control

Continuous monitoring and control are needed to understand the dynamics of the downhole environment in an oil or gas well. The Emerson’s Roxar™ monitoring and control solutions offer cost effective, highly stable, accurate and precise measurements suitable for the harshest and hottest deep well environments. These measurements, which include pressure, temperature, annulus B monitoring, and adaptive gas lift systems, are critical to managing well production, optimize reservoir performance, and maintaining well integrity.

Downhole Monitoring and Control - Connection to Multiple Downhole Instruments

Connection to Multiple Downhole Instruments with One Cable

The Roxar Integrated Downhole Network (IDN) is the backbone of our downhole monitoring solutions. It serves as an infrastructure host role, enabling communication, power, and interfacing for various downhole instruments and devices. It supports up to 32 sensors on a single cable, providing vital data for managing multiple wells or zones efficiently during well completions.

Our Downhole Wireless PT System continuously monitors annulus B temperature and pressure for the well's lifetime. Comprised of a wireless reader and a wireless PT Transponder, the advanced system improves production and offshore safety, providing data for early high-pressures warnings, protecting casing integrity and preventing pressure build-up.

We design, engineer, and manufacture a suite of gauge carriers tailored specifically to our downhole portfolio. The gauge carriers have a slim full-bore design and will be an integrated part of the tubing string. Our pressure and temperature gauges continually transmit data to the surface from any reservoir location, empowering operators to make fully informed decisions throughout the well's lifetime. Measure far beyond hybridized electronic gauge limits with Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) technology, accurate up to 225 °C (437 °F), and working pressure up to 1724 bar (25, 000 psi).

Downhole Monitoring and Control - Adaptive Gas Lift System

The Adaptive Gas Lift System (AGLS) is a retrievable digital gas lift system that utilizes field-proven technology. AGLS is the world’s first electric gas lift system qualified to internationally recognized standards. It is based on Interwell’ s gas lift technology and Emerson’s Roxar Integrated Downhole Network (IDN) and sensor technology.

Downhole Monitoring and Control - Intelligent Multistage Completion Network

The Intelligent Multistage Completion Network, a project developed in partnership with Metrol, offers a cost-effective downhole monitoring solution in two stage completions. A permanent reservoir monitoring system is installed in the upper completion with the new Roxar Matrix Downhole Wireless Interface enabling connection to Metrol wireless monitoring and control devices in the lower completion.

Installing electrical lines on wellheads demands a need for adequate safety barriers with respect to hydraulic integrity as well as electrical safety. Our wellhead outlet system enables safe and easy transition from downhole to surface environment. It is available for both electric and hydraulic lines, with a standardized, out-of-the-box ready, universal interface for the most common cable types.
