Carbon Capture Cleans Up Natural Gas

Carbon capture technologies are an essential part of creating a more sustainable future for companies and people around the world. In fact, to achieve net-zero emissions, carbon capture capacity must increase by more than a hundredfold by 2050. Momentum is building globally, with more governments and companies investing in carbon capture, storage and utilization (CCUS).

QatarEnergy recently announced its new sustainability strategy, aiming to reduce the emissions intensity of its liquified natural gas (LNG) facilities by 25%. They will develop carbon capture and utilization processes leveraging its automation partnership with Emerson. Qatar is the world’s largest LNG producer and exporter and is in the process of building a large extension to increase LNG production by 40%, while reducing its carbon footprint.
