Designed specifically for the power industry, the Ovation™ Automation Platform manages a microgrid’s distributed energy assets to cost-effectively produce low-carbon electricity while maintaining grid stability and operational resiliency. It effectively automates control of all microgrid components and macrogrid interconnections to satisfy power demand and maintain stable operating conditions in the event of a macrogrid electrical disturbance.
Emerson’s Ovation solution for microgrid management consists of standard integrated functions such as data acquisition, alarm management and historical archiving, as well as embedded energy management and electrical control applications.

The Ovation control system, designed specifically for the power industry, provides proven control and monitoring of power and energy management processes.
Ovation’s scalable compact controller (model OCC100) cost-effectively extends the proven Ovation platform to widely distributed assets or applications that require direct control in close proximity to plant equipment.
Capable of using wide-area-network (WAN) communication technologies, including wireless methods, the OCC100 acts as a microgrid controller that helps microgrid owners cost-effectively manage vital distributed assets. Native data link protocols connect the Ovation system to a host of Ethernet-enabled devices including battery management systems and photovoltaic power inverters.
Flexible layout and input/output (I/O) placement options enable installation in space-constrained areas or existing cabinets.
