Reliability After Steam-in-Place (SIP) & Clean-In-Place (CIP)
pH and dissolved oxygen are critical process parameters in pharmaceutical manufacturing that must be accurately monitored and controlled to produce high-quality biological drugs. Most bioreactors utilize two sensors for each measurement for redundancy and accuracy. In stainless steel bioreactors, SIP and CIP cycles can degrade sensors over time. The Rosemount™ Hx338+ Steam Sterilizable and Autoclavable pH Sensor is constructed to withstand the high temperatures of SIP and harsh chemicals of CIP. Furthermore, it provides a pressurized reference electrode which works to maintain a drift-free pH signal and fights poisoning ions. Likewise, the Rosemount Hx438 Steam Sterilizable Dissolved Oxygen Sensor is an amperometric sensor designed to withstand repeated steam sterilization cycles.
