Measurement Instrumentation for LNG Regasification

Streamline Regasification Processes from Terminal to Pipeline

LNG regasification terminals are critical to global energy infrastructure, enabling the conversion of liquefied natural gas back into its gaseous form for pipeline distribution and end-user consumption. Upon arrival, LNG carriers connect to unloading and gas return arms, transferring cryogenic LNG through insulated pipelines into large onshore storage tanks. Vaporizers then heat and regasify the LNG, using gas burners, seawater, or a combination. The regasified LNG is then dispatched or piped to the end user.

Each stage of this process presents operational and safety challenges, from managing extreme cryogenic temperatures to preventing overpressure events and maintaining precise flow control. Emerson’s measurement instrumentation is built to withstand these demanding conditions, helping operators optimize energy use, ensure compliance with international safety standards, and maintain reliable delivery of natural gas to the grid or industrial users.
