Eliminated Plugging and Freezing Impulse Lines in Low Temperatures
A light gas oil Hydrotreating unit utilizes a feed stripper to remove dissolved O2 from storage feed tanks. Refineries experience plugging and freezing of associated impulse lines with their current methods measuring flow, which can lead to a false trip of the hydrotreater. The Rosemount Quad Vortex offers a flow metering solution for 2oo3 (2 out of 3) voting system for the SIS System, along with a fourth flow meter for regulatory flow control. In addition, it has excellent rangeability with no need for zeroing and decreased operating expenses and maintenance over traditional DP flow meters. The Quad Vortex flow meter continues to function in low temperature environments without issue, providing four independent outputs that prevents false trips of the Hydrotreater unit.
