pH Sensor Resists Coating
Maintaining an ideal pH range of influent wastewater streams between 6 and 9 is important. A pH level outside of this range is harmful to the microorganisms used to break down organic media in aeration basins downstream. Furthermore, a pH below 6.5 will damage concrete. ORP is occasionally monitored to detect changes in the biological loading of the influent wastewater. The Rosemount 396P™ pH/ORP Sensor is great for this application as it is designed with a shroud around the pH glass to resist coating of the pH glass and plugging of the reference junction by solids in the influent wastewater.
