50 years of radar level experience and proven technology has resulted in the development of the Rosemount 1408H non-contacting radar, the first level transmitter to use 80 GHz frequency modulated continuous wave technology on a single electronic chip with embedded smart algorithms.
With Fast Sweep Technology, exceptional radar beam focusing, 4-20 mA and IO-Link communications, the new Rosemount 1408H is the level sensor you need in your plant.
The 3-wire Rosemount 1408H offers hybrid communication and provides 4-20 mA, IO-Link and PnP/NpN switching.
It also delivers an excellent surface tracking thanks to its new chip design with Fast Sweep Technology, which provides up to 40 times more information compared to legacy technology . Besides, the combination of FMCW and 80 GHz frequency enables exceptional radar beam focusing, so that internal tank obstructions such as agitators can be avoided, and greater measurement accuracy achieved.
With hybrid communication, the Rosemount 1408H radar level transmitter is easy to integrate with any automation system. It ensures an easy installation and commissioning thanks to its innovative technology and smart algorithms, which help you saving time and ensures trouble-free operation.
The Rosemount 1408H uses standardized electrical cables and connectors and the parameters are optimized from start – just set range and you are good to go.
The Rosemount 1408H has been specifically designed to meet the strict safety requirements of the food and beverage industry. It features a sealed polished stainless-steel housing that is IP69-rated, food graded wetted parts and the hygienic antenna is flush with the process connection, which ensures functionality and cleanliness during CIP/SIP cleaning processes and external washdowns.
The Rosemount 1408H is also insensitive to condensation and build-up and its compact and robust form makes it a suitable solution for small tanks and vessels.
The Rosemount 1408H will help you gain insights into your storage tanks and ensure production runs smoothly without interruption. Besides, it will allow you to automate filling and emptying cycles in the batch filling processes from your plant, which will help you to optimize production throughput, avoid shutdowns and scrap.
