Micro Motion Coriolis meters directly measure mass flow, density, and temperature, so they can continue measuring the actual fluid mixture in the tubes during entrained gas or two-phase conditions, but density will reflect the lower-density mixture and the best application fit depends on gas regime, sensor frequency, transmitter configuration, and operating stability; for difficult two-phase applications, Micro Motion ELITE meters are identified as the strongest fit, while G-Series is not recommended for entrained-air two-phase applications because its high operating frequency can increase measurement error, and traditional technologies such as turbine, PD, thermal mass, and volumetric meters may be more affected by moving-part wear, volumetric property changes, flow conditioning, or inability to directly measure mass.​

For custody transfer or proving of liquid hydrocarbons, use a Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meter and configure the transmitter for fast response where proving performance is critical, because API MPMS Chapter 5.6, Measurement of Liquid Hydrocarbons by Coriolis Meters, defines Coriolis pulse scaling factor behavior for proving and covers crude oil, hydrocarbon products, and dense-phase fluids such as LPG, NGL, and LNG; internal proving guidance recommends fastest available response mode, 0.0 seconds flow damping, 0.16 seconds density damping, and ensuring pulse frequency at maximum flow does not exceed the prover pulse counter capacity.​

Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters are appropriate for CCUS and CO₂ applications because Coriolis technology directly measures mass flow independent of whether CO₂ is gas, liquid, dense phase, or supercritical, and internal CCUS guidance cites ±0.25% mass flow accuracy uncertainty for CO₂ measurement while noting that pressure may need to be measured or known in high-pressure applications to compensate for Coriolis tube stiffness effects; for engineered high-pressure CO₂ applications, Micro Motion High Pressure ELITE models are documented up to 4,641 psig (320 bar), including CMF300M to 250 bar, CMF400P to 260 bar, and CMF400H to 320 bar depending on configuration and regulatory constraints.​

For hygienic or sanitary process applications, Micro Motion Hygienic G-Series is suited to compact OEM skids, Life Sciences, and Food & Beverage duties requiring 3-A authorization, EHEDG certification, ASME BPE design compliance, CIP/SIP compatibility, 316/316L or 317/317L wetted parts, and 30 Ra (0.76 μm) or 15 Ra (0.38 μm) electropolished wetted surfaces, while H-Series is a better fit when the application requires compact hygienic design plus improved two-phase or entrained-air capability, and ELITE is the better fit for the broadest range of demanding hygienic, cryogenic, high-pressure, high-temperature, slurry, or multiphase conditions.​

Micro Motion Smart Meter Verification can be used to check Coriolis meter health in situ without interrupting the process, and a petrochemical custody-transfer case study describes a site with 100 Micro Motion Coriolis meters using 5700 Transmitters to move away from twice-yearly manual verification that required removing meters from service. Smart Meter Verification is a traceable, on-demand or scheduled verification method that can provide confidence in meter functionality in less than 90 seconds; whether it replaces calibration or only supports longer calibration intervals depends on site quality procedures, regulatory requirements, and accepted documentation for the application.​
