Operating within a chemical complex, the different parties sometimes need to bill each other for products and utilities. If an oxygen plant is involved and large volumes are being traded, metering accuracy, reliability, and repeatability are essential. Big and complex oxygen plants include numerous measuring points such as the high-temperature oxygen lines and headers with temperatures of ~ 250 °F (120 °C). These points need to be monitored. Installing a traditional metering system would require a downstream factory shutdown, resulting in high costs and a long execution time. Combined with its critical impact on the entire ecosystem, this is not a feasible option. Therefore, high-precision clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters are the ideal instrumentation for this application.
