Reduce Maintenance Complexity
Chemical producers can struggle to get accurate monitoring of the health of their glycerin refining tower's packing health. A differential pressure (DP) transmitter, extensive impulse piping and heat tracing had been used, leading to inaccurate readings due to condensation and temperature fluctuations. This can create unnecessary maintenance outages and higher costs. Replacing an old set-up with a Rosemount™ 3051S ERS™ (Electronic Remote Sensor) System, comprising two digitally linked pressure sensors can provide positive results. The new system eliminated impulse piping issues and provided stable readings regardless of temperatures. Other benefits included increased maintenance efficiency, elimination of unnecessary maintenance, reduced risks of process shutdowns and protection against equipment damage.
