In line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the clear roadmap aims to transform the country's economy and society. One of the key components of the plan is localization; increasing domestically-produced goods and services, and reducing dependence on imports.
Emerson’s presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has seen significant milestones in extending its operations and manufacturing capabilities over the past years. From the early beginnings in the 1960s, and until this day, Emerson has been expanding its manufacturing base in the Kingdom to support local and regional demands.
Emerson Saudi Arabia’s local manufacturing capabilities include Control Systems, Measurement Solutions and Control Valves, Industrial panels and enclosures and Control & Safety Systems.
In 2014, we expanded our Jubail facility to support the production, testing, and service of pressure reducing regulators. In 2016 and 2017, we added industrial panels and enclosures, and a purpose-built facility in Dammam for engineering, systems staging, commissioning, and operational support for our control and safety systems business. In 2018, we inaugurated our Saudi Arabia headquarters in Dhahran Techno Valley, which includes a collaboration center for industry, academia, and technology to research and co-develop solutions for critical operational challenges. In 2022, we expanded our measurement solutions and discrete and industrial businesses in Dammam with purpose-built facilities to manufacture measurement instrumentation and instrument valves.
Our headquarters in Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) was inaugurated to give focus around co-development and technology innovation along with existing manufacturing capabilities– The DTV facility has critical functions that support all of its Saudi Arabia business and hosts a collaboration center that gathers stakeholders from industry, academia and technology to innovate and work on solutions for critical operational challenges that the industry faces today.
Emerson holds its continuous commitment and support to Saudi Arabia by launching and maintaining programs to support with technology development and localization.
Emerson also offers support and training to local supply chain partners that provide critical pressure retained castings for valve manufacturing, as well as indoor and outdoor cabinets – this supports Emerson’s vision to produce castings and fabrications that are 100% manufactured in Saudi Arabia.
January 2023, Emerson will break ground for a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub that will house its entire manufacturing footprint in Saudi Arabia.
Located at King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), the hub stands as a testament to Emerson’s continued commitment to its customers and stakeholders in the Kingdom, and the next natural step as it sets for a bountiful growth.
