Fisher Startup & Commissioning Kits reduce startup risk, simplify procurement and improve long-term valve reliability and performance
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2026) – Emerson’s Fisher™ Startup & Commissioning Kits help protect valve bodies and operational trim during commissioning, helping reduce startup risk and support long-term valve performance.
Startup and commissioning is one of the most critical phases of any plant project. During this period, valves are exposed to debris, weld slag, flushing processes, and hydrotesting conditions that differ significantly from normal service. The new Startup & Commissioning Kits address these challenges by providing a one-time-use startup trim by the manufacturer to help protect valve bodies and operational trims during this project phase.
These one-time-use kits, available in flow-stop and flow-through designs, include components needed to manage debris and startup processes without exposing operational trim to potential damage. This helps reduce uncertainty, simplify procurement and minimize potential delays in the startup process.
During commissioning, the dedicated startup trim protects critical valve components from contaminants, erosion and premature wear. Once startup activities are complete, the startup trim is removed and replaced with the final operational trim, allowing the valve to enter service with its intended factory performance characteristics intact. The result is a more predictable startup, reduced execution risk and improved long-term valve performance.
