What is a slurry angle valve?
Slurry angle valves are used to isolate the flow of a liquid or a slurry using a rising stem and disc to close against a seat through the line media. The ‘angle’ in the name comes from the 90 degree port orientation. It was designed with a 90 degree port to allow removal from ‘scaled up’ process lines.
Slurry angle valves are primarily used in alumina production where the process requires a valve that can isolate in erosive and scaling service conditions. This is achieved through a unique feature of the angle slurry valve that grinds the seat and disc to remove any scale formation and to ensure positive process flow isolation.
