Application Challenges
Furnace feed applications are challenging because of the erosive flow, high temperature, and composition of the hydrocarbon. Coke fines in the process provide additional challenges surrounding erosive flow and coke buildup within the valve.
Optimizing this process is becoming increasingly important, and good measurement is a key factor in effectively evaluating operations. These valves protect the furnace radiant section tubes and are critical to prevent overheating and resultant failure of the entire furnace.
Our Solution
The Fisher™ V500 Eccentric Plug Valve for furnace feed applications was designed to address erosive flows at high temperatures. The Fisher™ FIELDVUE™ DVC6200 digital valve controller keeps the flow rate tightly controlled and will provide alerts if any issues arise.
