The Control Platform Designed for Power and Water
Emerson’s six decades of power and water expertise is embedded within the Ovation™ distributed control system to form a reliable and innovative platform that evolves with rapidly changing technology to help improve plant and equipment reliability.
Ovation Controllers and I/O
Ovation I/O
Emerson’s Ovation control and I/O technology is designed to support long-term process reliability and expandability. Ovation I/O features modular, plug-in components that enhance long-term reliability and simplify maintenance. Fast DIN rail installation, built-in connectors, and electronic ID streamline setup and configuration. With hot-swappable modules, standardized diagnostics, and fewer styles to manage, Ovation I/O reduces inventory costs while delivering robust, scalable performance.
Ovation Controller OCR3000
The OCR3000 model is the successor to the Ovation OCR1100 controller. The OCR3000 combines the processor and the IOIC modules into a single module, and provides an interface for up to 16 branches of local I/O. The OCR3000 controller scans all 16 I/O branches in parallel, providing a significant performance increase.
Ovation Compact Controller OCC100
Combining the form factor and ruggedness of a PLC with the power and ease-of-integration of the Ovation control system, the compact controller is a reliable automation platform scalable for any power generation or water/wastewater application that needs control to be located near the equipment.
Ovation Micro Controller - Model OMC100
The newest member of the Ovation compact controller series, the Ovation Micro Controller, Model OMC100, integrates all the precision field controls of an Ovation Controller with 32 embedded, software-defined I/O channels, all in one condensed package. Like its OCR and OCC counterparts, the OMC100 provides the same outstanding performance and mission-critical operations for the power and water/wastewater industries, but with a flexible and scalable footprint.
Ovation Software-Defined Controller - SDC100
The Software-Defined Controller (SDC100) is a VxWorks virtual machine in a hypervisor environment that minimizes hardware requirements and footprint by allowing users to load multiple virtual controllers on a single server. This allows users to manage costs effectively by customizing their Ovation system to include only the hardware necessary to run their operation. It is configured with enough memory and CPU resources to perform the same task speeds and loads as an OCR3000 Controller.
Ovation Machinery Health Monitor
The Ovation Machinery Health™ Monitor with PeakVue™ Technology fully integrates predictive diagnostics and protection for rotating assets directly into the Ovation control system. It delivers continuous vibration monitoring, advanced fault analysis, and API 670-compliant protection. By eliminating standalone systems, the Machinery Health Monitor helps reduce lifecycle costs while enhancing reliability, security, and operational awareness.
Visualization and Infrastructure
Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS)
Ovation Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) securely aggregates real-time and historical data from Ovation and other systems, enabling remote visualization of plant performance across single or multi-site operations. With mobile access, original graphics, and Excel/web service integration, EDS empowers faster, data-driven decisions all while enhancing reliability, reducing costs, and supporting enterprise-wide digital transformation.
Ovation Engineering Station And Tools
The Ovation Engineering Station provides a unified platform to configure, maintain, and operate Ovation systems. With simultaneous engineering of control logic, graphics, and databases, and tools like Developer Studio for object-oriented design, it streamlines project execution. Intuitive interfaces and built-in help functions simplify workflows, boosting productivity and system reliability.
Ovation Operator Workstations
Ovation Operator Workstations deliver real-time visibility and control with intuitive graphics, alarm management, and trending tools. Supporting up to 500,000 dynamic points, they provide secure, multi-monitor access to live and historical data. With customizable displays, remote desktop access, and integration with third-party apps, operators gain situational awareness and streamlined workflows.
Ovation Process Historian
The Ovation Process Historian provides scalable, fault-tolerant storage and retrieval of process data, alarms, sequence-of-events, and operator actions. Designed for seamless integration with the Ovation control system, it supports distributed data collection, centralized deployment, and rich client applications. It’s a proven platform for delivering high-resolution trending, analysis, and long-term archiving across enterprise operations.
Ovation Database Server
The Ovation Database Server is a secure, reliable, and scalable platform that supports complex control system processes by organizing and managing large volumes of data. It stores configuration data, applications, user interface information, and process points in a structured relational format. This centralized database populates distributed databases across the Ovation network, enabling efficient data access and integration through organized tables that support advanced search and data retrieval.
Ovation Playback Recorder
Quickly identifying the root cause of abnormal events during plant operation is critical to prevent costly consequences like equipment damage or shutdowns. The Ovation playback recorder automatically and continuously records plant operation data at the same resolution as live control system. Captured plant events can be played back at any time on Ovation operator workstations through the playback utility.
